High praise from such a seasoned race driver!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:180%;color:#ffcc66;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:180%;color:#ffcc66;"&gt;We hope that Bridgestone can supply these for the A plus class to run ... &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:180%;color:#ffcc66;"&gt;Glen,our new technician with considerable experience in the Leatt brace system, fitted the device to Ray's helmet for him to test. Ray reported,after initially finding the brace a different feel to his usual brace, found the Leatt to be comfortable and supportive. He found he was able to have more movement through his head.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:180%;color:#ffcc66;"&gt;He declared it made him feel more secure in the car and thus be able to go that little bit faster!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:180%;color:#ffcc66;"&gt;We value Ray's racing experience and opinions, so armed with his feed back, we have applied to become a dealer of the Leatt Brace.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Arial;font-size:180%;color:#ffcc66;"&gt;Here at motorscience Ltd, Glen Leyston will be the point of contact - the drivers,Paul McCabe,Paul Reynolds,Kevin Etches,Max Booth and Peter Booth - the technical support crew.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;Unfortunately, Jeff was missing from the team as he was winging his way to Nurburgring to race in the 24hour race!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;Ray qualified 2nd with Harry Dodson's Skyline in 1st place.The race was wet and we didn't have full wet tyres so by the end of the 10th lap we were in 3rd place behind the Skyline and the GT3.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;Ray was held back with our tyres not giving him the grip he wanted...&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;So after 1 hour and 48 minutes - Conal was in the driving seat!!The Skyline had a few un scheduled pit stops which meant it had dropped back.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;Conal had the first part of his drive with a dry line and had a great battle with Mike Edie in his M3 - with Conal finally getting the best of the M3!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;The final hour saw more rain and Conal passing the GT3 - a position that he held to the end of the race!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier New;font-size:180%;color:#ccccff;"&gt;So the results were - Glen Leyston!!&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman" color="#cccccc" size="5"&gt;Glen joined the motorscience team in early June.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman" color="#cccccc" size="5"&gt;Glen was involved in Porsche Cup racing in South Africa in the beginning of 944 turbos.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;font face="Times New Roman" color="#cccccc" size="5"&gt;He has been involved in various forms of motorsport - It just goes to show how close the racing is - when a missed gear can cost you 2 places!! resumed... with Conal beating the GT3  and Jeff  ahead of the other 964RS - but still not as quick as Brian McGovern in his 944 style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:180%;color:#999900;"&gt;Friday testing became rather testing on the nerves!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:180%;color:#999900;"&gt;On the second test session with Jeff - we encountered gearbox selector problems.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:180%;color:#999900;"&gt;So we decided to return to Auckland to repair.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:180%;color:#999900;"&gt;We arrived back in Taupo around 2 am Saturday morning after changing the crown wheel and pinion.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:180%;color:#999900;"&gt;It was all worth it as on Saturday,Jeff set his fastest time at Taupo!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:180%;color:#999900;"&gt;Conal juggled family and work and again beat the GT3 in A+ class.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;font-size:180%;color:#999900;"&gt;Great comraderie amongst the race participants - an enjoyable ( /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff9966;"&gt;The day was a huge sucess and we were able to do a few more set up adjustments - with the help, once again, of Racing Ray.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff9966;"&gt;A great day was had - thanks to the sponsors - Hynds.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;Conal and Jeff drove in the last round of the endurance series at Taupo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;Ray Williams qualified 3rd in front of some of the GT3s.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;As this was only a 4 hour race, the most effective way to run the race was with 2 drivers and the changeover when the car pitted.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;Jeff started and Conal did the last run.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;The racing was very wet - a jet boat might have been a faster way to get around the track!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;The Dempsey Wood Porsche finished 2nd in class behind the BMW M3 - yes, traction control does help!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;They were ahead of the 996 Turbo GT3 and a Ford GT.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff6600;"&gt;A great result - they took 3rd overall in type='text'>Endurance Series...</title><content type='html'>11.05.10&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Conal Dempsey and Jeff Lowrey, not content with entering 2 different series this season, have now entered a 3rd series!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This being the Endurance series consisting of three rounds:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.05.10 - Manfield&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;15.05.10 - Pukekohe&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;12.06.10 - Taupo&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's see how a 20 year old car will perform...!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Round One - Manfield...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Driving for this first round was Jeff and Racing Ray Williams, and drive they did!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The race was stopped with 10 mins left to run - the heavens opened up and the track became increasingly dangerous.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The guys finished 2nd overall to the Ford GT by 16 sec - not bad after 3 hours and 50 mins of racing!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Congratulations Jeff and Ray - great team work.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next challenge - 8 hours at Pukekohe on 15th May... with Jeff,Conal and Ray driving.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Bridgestone series finished with the Taupo race on 3/4 April.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Jeff had a really competitive weekend and close racing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Conal had the first major failure of the season with gearbox trouble which meant he was unable to finish the race.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Both have enjoyed competing in 2 series this season - double the track time - double the fun!!&lt;div &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="georgia"&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="georgia"&gt;It has been a busy few weeks moving of packing, sorting and biffing!! What treasures we have found… &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="georgia"&gt;The new workshop is double the size in floor area – and we have added 2 new hoists, so that takes us to 5 hoists. We have kept the first hoist free for inspections and “call-in and check out my problem” type of scenario. We have a dedicated wash bay – so no more juggling of cars to reach the cleaning gear. There are 14 car parks…so no excuse for not calling in, checking out our new space and partaking in a coffee!! &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="georgia"&gt;Of course there are finishing touches that are yet to be done – like art work, noticeboards etc, but hey those things are a work in progress!! Give us a month and they will be in place. Our service work has been up and running from day one and everyone is enjoying the space and the ease of movement around the workshop. &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="georgia"&gt;We have fitted out the office with a kitchen and the trusty coffee machine has survived the shift and is working overtime!! &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;font face="georgia"&gt;During this time Dempsey Wood had another successful track day at Pukekohe with Conal Dempsey and Jeff Lowery taking clients for hair raising hot laps around the track in their 964RS’.
