On 2/7/11 we went to Pukekohe to test the new Bridgestone Championship race Dot tyres and the Leatt brace.

Racing Ray Williams drove the race car and declared the tyres to be comparable to slicks and a great tyre!! High praise from such a seasoned race driver!!

We hope that Bridgestone can supply these for the A plus class to run ...

Glen, our new technician with considerable experience in the Leatt brace system, fitted the device to Ray's helmet for him to test. Ray reported, after initially finding the brace a different feel to his usual brace, found the Leatt to be comfortable and supportive. He found he was able to have more movement through his head.

He declared it made him feel more secure in the car and thus be able to go that little bit faster!!

We value Ray's racing experience and opinions, so armed with his feed back, we have applied to become a dealer of the Leatt Brace.

Here at motorscience Ltd, Glen Leyston will be the point of contact - his wealth of knowledge of the product is extensive!!

Conal's car will be on display at the Speed Show on the Leatt stand - Glen will be in attendance and I believe Leatt has an amazing deal on offer.

ENDURANCE ROUND 2-TAUPO 4 HOUR RACE...

The 2nd and final round of the North Island Endurance Championship!!

After the win at Pukekohe, a good result would get us the series championship...

So,with the car prepped, we headed off to Taupo.

The team consisted of Conal Dempsey and Racing Ray Williams - the drivers,Paul McCabe,Paul Reynolds,Kevin Etches,Max Booth and Peter Booth - the technical support crew.

Unfortunately, Jeff was missing from the team as he was winging his way to Nurburgring to race in the 24hour race!!

Ray qualified 2nd with Harry Dodson's Skyline in 1st place. The race was wet and we didn't have full wet tyres so by the end of the 10th lap we were in 3rd place behind the Skyline and the GT3.

Ray was held back with our tyres not giving him the grip he wanted...

So after 1 hour and 48 minutes - Conal was in the driving seat!!The Skyline had a few un scheduled pit stops which meant it had dropped back.

Conal had the first part of his drive with a dry line and had a great battle with Mike Edie in his M3 - with Conal finally getting the best of the M3!!

The final hour saw more rain and Conal passing the GT3 - a position that he held to the end of the race!!

So the results were - 1st for 4 hour

1st in class

Overall series winner.

Such a great result for all!!

It's welcome to our new technician - Glen Leyston!!

Glen joined the motorscience team in early June.

Glen was involved in Porsche Cup racing in South Africa in the beginning of 944 turbos.

He has been involved in various forms of motorsport - road/off road cars and bikes.

Needless to say he has a wealth of technical experience!!
